On Assignment: The best mustache in Oklahoma

I hit a tidal wave of freelance assignments in February, one of which took me to the Bates Training Center in Wyandotte, Oklahoma. That’s where I found Bruce Bates, horse trainer/entrepreneur extraordinaire and the owner of the biggest, gruffest, most non-ironic mustache I’ve ever seen.
Seriously, hipsters, take note.
From a reporting standpoint, interviewing cowboys ain’t for the feeble-hearted, but they take a hell of a portrait.

Never mind. I see it now.
It’s singular.
I’m visiting Oklahoma right now! I haven’t seen any cowboys yet, but I’ll be looking.
